Kate Donald Physio
Kate is an exciting new addition to the Ourvets team! She is an experienced pet physio and rehabilitationist, with a passion for animal care and the physical body. By combining her knowledge of anatomy, muscles and how the body works, with animal behaviour and science communication, she was taught how to perform physiotherapy on dogs, cats and other small furry friends. This year Kate will be studying long distance to become qualified as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner, through the University of Tennessee in the USA.
In her four years of experience, she has treated pets who are recovering from orthopaedic and spinal surgeries, ones that are trying to avoid surgery, injured working dogs, competition agility dogs and beloved older pets who are starting to slow down.
All of these animals have responded well to physiotherapy and rehabilitation and their quality of life has greatly improved as a result.
When assessing your pet, Kate will recommend a rehab program that will get them back on all four paws again. She offers cold-light laser therapy, massage, joint mobilisation, stretching, strengthening and co-ordination exercises. Together, we will create a rehab program for your pet that is tailored to their specific needs.
